TD Garden is a major Boston sports and entertainment venue and the home of the Bruins, Celtics, and Blazers of the National Lacrosse League.
Entro was engaged to implement the venue’s new brand in time for the start of the NHL season on October 1. The assignment required a visual identity that could work across the building while responding to the changing needs of three home teams, concerts, special events, and the thousands of people who experience the arena throughout the year.
TD Garden needed to feel immediately connected to the team or event taking place without becoming a collection of disconnected identities. The venue’s exterior and major public-facing elements had to communicate energy at a large scale, remain legible in a busy urban setting, and support rapid transitions between different event experiences. Entro’s solution needed to make the building feel active and relevant whether visitors arrived for hockey, basketball, lacrosse, a concert, or another special event.
Entro developed a system that allows the entire building to transform for the three home teams and for other events. The upper portions of the exterior are immersed in colour-themed lighting: yellow for the Bruins, green for the Celtics, red for the Blazers, blue for concerts, and multicolour lighting for special events and holidays. This gave the venue a clear, highly visible way to signal what was happening inside while creating a distinct experience for each audience.
Entro also designed “The Wall,” a staggered series of floating glass blocks or cubes at varying heights on the south side of the building. Carrying the new identity, this installation turned the venue’s exterior into a memorable branded landmark and gave the arena a strong architectural expression beyond conventional signage.
Entro’s work made TD Garden’s brand a visible, changeable part of the visitor experience. The lighting system helps audiences immediately understand which team or event is being featured, while “The Wall” provides a permanent identity element that anchors the building in Boston’s urban landscape. Together, these interventions created a flexible brand platform that supports multiple teams, event formats, and seasonal moments without losing coherence.
