The new venue welcomed thousands of Calgary Stampede visitors this month ...
Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to explore the indoor amenities and outdoor public spaces of this stunning one million square foot facility.
Entro is proud to have collaborated with the architectural team of Stantec, Populous, and S2 Architecture to design the signage and wayfinding program for the BMO Centre.
With the capacity to host 33,000 guests at once, the BMO Centre is now Western Canada’s largest convention centre and a catalyst for tourism and economic growth.
This world-class venue features bright, airy common spaces, new exhibit halls, a 70-foot-tall indoor fireplace, and Canada’s second largest ballroom. The building’s exterior is also striking: the sculpted roof evokes the riverbanks of the Bow and Elbow Rivers and the Rocky Mountain foothills, and the large public plaza accommodates outdoor concerts and events.

The wayfinding and signage program, like the architecture, prioritizes the user experience. Building and room identification is big and bold, well suited to the architectural design. Clear, legible messaging makes it easy for large numbers of first-time visitors to find their way. Digital signage is key to a facility hosting ever-changing events; displays are beautifully integrated with the wayfinding signs, affecting a clean, modern look and feel.
