Western Sydney International Airport

Sydney, Australia

Project

Entro is designing the wayfinding program for the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport as part of the Multiplex team. Drawing on Australia’s natural beauty, the region’s rich Aboriginal heritage and strong sustainability principles, the final design of the Airport will result in a terminal that offers passengers an experience unrivalled among Australian airports.

Consultation with Aboriginal communities throughout the design process will be reflected across both the departures and arrivals, ensuring the terminal has an authentic sense of place in Dharug country. Sustainable principles have been considered with passive design principles drawing on natural light and airflows to provide superior energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

Simple and intuitive wayfinding will ensure passengers have a stress-free, seamless airport experience. Our scope includes terminal and landside wayfinding strategy and design for all interior and exterior signage.

Australian-founded company Multiplex was awarded the contract in 2021 to construct the terminal. Western Sydney International is on track to begin international and domestic passenger services and air cargo flights in late 2026.
