NORQUEST COLLEGE

Edmonton, Alberta

Project

With almost 50 years of history as a vocational school, NorQuest College went through a major restructuring in 2012 which led to a rebranding.

Entro's visual identity design supports NorQuest College’s vision of being a student-centred, inclusive, and relevant post-secondary institution. The centrepiece of new identity is the logo. The symbol represents a modern crest made up of four colourful forms each carrying meaning tied to the school values. The cantilevered or staggered typographic configuration cradles the symbol and creates a unique and modern signature system that is adaptable for future growth.

To support the new brand and visual identity, Entro created templates for print and web applications, as well as an extensive brand guidelines manual including standards for photography, typography, and graphic elements. The guidelines focus on consistency across all applications while providing the flexibility to evolve as required.

Internal research revealed 91% support for the new brand – a tremendous turnaround from the initial concerns and skepticism that faculty and staff had for the new direction.
