The Museum of Modern Art’s new building opened in 2004, creating larger, more flexible galleries for contemporary art. Entro and Bruce Mau Design designed the environmental graphics, donor recognition and wayfinding systems for this large-scale expansion, in keeping with MoMA’s strong, historically modern graphic identity.

We inserted a 40-foot long glass banner into the mullion extrusion that ran vertically and perpendicular to the building façade. We also created easily removable and flexible signage, including an electronic display system to promote future events, explain current shows, and provide pre-sale pricing information to reduce transaction times at ticketing.

Our solution was simple and monochromatic, perfectly supporting the architecture and art of one of the world’s great contemporary museums.
