King Portland Centre

Toronto, ON

Project

Designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects and operated by Allied Properties and CanRio, Toronto's King-Portland Centre blends 20,000 square feet of office space and over 5,000 square feet of retail space. Entro designed the wayfinding program including interior and exterior signage and pylons along King Street. The flair and historic significance of the neighbouring fashion district and the uber stylish feel of trendy King West result in a signage program that feels modern but classic for this Victorian inspired building.

The pylons placed along King Street provide an example of the marriage of modern convenience and historic appearance: they provide visitors with digital experience that ties brand to the space and tenants while their finish alludes to a modernization of the wrought iron fencing used throughout the district, mimicking the gateway to the building.

King-Portland Centre offers a modern working and shopping experience surrounded by the historic beauty of Old Toronto. Entro’s signage aims to complement these elements of the building, offering both timeless design and practical function all in keeping with the many bylaws associated with heritage regulations.
