HEFFRON CENTRE

Maroubra, Australia

Project

Entro is currently designing the experiential design and wayfinding program for the Heffron Centre – a new community sporting facility and home of the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Maroubra.

Designed by CO-OP Studio, this state-of-the-art facility will replace the current indoor sports centre, providing double the space for community programs. The approximately $50-million project is a joint initiative between the Randwick City Council and the Rabbitohs, with part of the funds provided by The New South Wales Office of Sport and the federal government. The Heffron Centre will also have an open café, a memorabilia area and a shared internal ‘street’, which creates a unique opportunity for professional athletes to mingle with community members.

Construction on the Heffron Centre began in September 2021. The centre is expected to open in late 2022, in time for the 2023 National Rugby League season.
