The intersection of Bloor and Islington is well known; with a subway station that connects directly to downtown Toronto. The site is centrally located on Bloor Street and is comprised of three linked towers. The complex is also intended for community with a daycare centre, gym, and multiple diverse restaurants. With this in mind, Entro developed a name that speaks to a sense of place. The Bloor Islington Place logo offers a graphic depiction of the architecture – the three interconnected buildings – with horizontal lines suggesting movement, connection, and community.
Together with Starlight Investments Entro developed the name, logo and unified visual language for Bloor Islington Place.
The ease of orientation within Bloor Islington Place is essential for the tenants, their clients, and the pedestrian traffic to and from the subway. We designed signage to clearly demarcate the entry and exit points to each tower, as well as the threshold within the towers to create an arrival sequence. The design is itself elegant, clean, and welcoming, utilizing colours that compliment the architectural environment for an integrated look.
