Expressing Centennial’s Creativity on Campus

Story

The Centennial College Story Arts Centre is home to the School of Communications, Media and Design. When Entro was asked to develop the centre’s new signage and wayfinding, the intent was to capture the vibrancy of the campus, while complementing the unique mid-century modern architecture.

The program incorporates playful, bold use of typography and colour to emphasize key locations on campus. Colour coding various zones further emphasizes destinations on campus, as well as hidden spaces within the building. This culminates into an impactful colour spectrum, particularly on the directional wayfinding signage. Other signtypes included identification signs for classrooms, departments, and amenities, along with regulatory and directional signage. The complete program represents a 21st century take on what was previously a traditional mid-century approach.
