Congratulations to Entro’s Monika Gilbert who received recognition from Graphis Inc., Applied Arts Magazine, and the Advertising & Design Club of Canada (ADCC) for her student work in the Graphic Design program at George Brown College!
Monika’s imagined design of the Tesla Motors Annual Report received a Graphis New Talent Award (2016) in the Annual Reports category, and an Applied Arts Award for Editorial Design (2015). The report itself focused on innovation, with the design promoting clean lines, minimal typography and diagonal shapes that take cues from the Telsa brand and reflect the mission of the company.

Monika also received a Graphis New Talent Award (2016) for Packaging Design. Apoteka + Kozmetika is a European, high-end bath and body line for women. In her proposed design, Monika incorporates vintage botanical illustrations, a fresh colour palette, and gold leaf edging to represent luxury, youth and beauty, appealing to these sensibilities.

In the Editorial & Book Design category, her work on ‘The Very Unscary Sea Monster’ was recognized by the ADCC. This children’s story book follows a young sea monster on his journey to befriend a Viking ship. The illustrations are inspired by Danish art, using traditional and digital media, with lots of white space surrounding them for a light and airy feel. The handwritten typography adds a touch of whimsy.
