Join Entro's Jacqueline Tang for RGD Webinar on Placemaking

September 7, 2022

Story

On Wednesday, September 7th at 1:00 PM ET, join Jacqueline Tang, Creative Director at Entro, for RGD's Signage and Wayfinding Webinar Series: Grounding signage programs with placemaking strategies to create impactful spaces and experiences.

Placemaking results from elements that combine to turn a space into a place - one that connects to people and invites a rich understanding of their experience. Whether bold or subtle, environmental graphics and signage are two crucial elements that make a space meaningful and impactful. More than just aesthetics, placemaking design draws on history, culture, function, and input from the local community to ensure solutions are relevant and reflect the vision and aspirations of its users.

In this webinar, Jacqueline draws on project examples from across Canada and around the world, to explore how different placemaking processes and strategies can result in unique design approaches that bring environments to life and resonate with their intended communities. She will discuss how public engagement and consultation can introduce and integrate a re-imagined community hub; how the engagement of local artists contributes to the vision of a shelter and the well-being of its users; and in one case study, how the use of distinctive regional materials and forms create a sense of place in a museum environment that is culturally relevant and informed by First Nations.
