Story

In June, the American Institute of Architects hosted their annual Conference on Architecture in Las Vegas, Nevada. As part of AIA's pre-conference programming, Entro led a workshop informed by our latest research on computer-validated design: "Design Science Fair: Inventive Tools Offer Glimpse Into the Mind".

Through a series of hands-on activities and demonstrations, the workshop examined how cognitive neuroscience and innovative research tools can together enhance the design of environments and ultimately the user's enjoyment of them. Attendees were able to learn about a variety of research perspectives and uncover design-specific outcomes. This included how we are using machine learning to help predict emotion; how analyzing brain wave measures can aid in the design of spaces; as well as design factors that shape human spatial cognition, and the factors that form focus and creativity and ultimately shape how we experience places.
