Our Vancouver office is seeking a Business Development and Sales Lead.
Position Overview:
The Business Development and Sales Lead will play a critical role in driving Entro’s growth and strengthening our market presence on the West Coast. This individual will develop and implement effective sales, support marketing and communication strategies, and liaise with leaders across the firm to ensure the alignment of business development efforts with company objectives. The ideal candidate is strategic, collaborative, and experienced in delivering results in a high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the Partner overseeing Calgary and Vancouver offices and the BD team to support firm-wide strategic improvements. Build partnerships with BD managers, and firm leadership to align sales strategies with Entro’s goals. Attend bi-weekly sales and proposal meetings to ensure streamlined processes.
- Sales, Marketing, and Communications Management: Drive sales and marketing by managing the pipeline, client outreach, and engagement strategies. Contribute to brand initiatives, including social media, web content, PR, and photography, to boost Entro’s visibility. Support unique content creation (articles, webinars, white papers) to position Entro as an industry leader. Represent Entro at events and conferences to build relationships and identify sector needs.
- Team Leadership and Development: Support and mentor local leadership to independently execute sales, marketing, and communication strategies. Proactively address challenges with creative solutions to inspire innovation and support Entro’s growth.
- Client Engagement: Act as an ambassador for Entro by building relationships and delivering client presentations that showcase Entro’s values.
- Process Management and Reporting: Accurately track sales opportunities in Deltek, aligning forecasts with Entro’s goals. Set and manage budgets to optimize resources, and continuously prioritize tasks to meet business development goals.
Key Performance Indicators for the position may include:
- Revenue Growth: Percentage increase in revenue attributed to sales activities, reflecting the effectiveness of the Sales Lead in driving new business and expanding existing client relationships.
- New Business Acquisition: Number of new clients secured within the year.
- Sales Pipeline Value and Health: Value and status of opportunities in the sales pipeline.
- Opportunity Win Rate: Percentage of opportunities won compared to those pursued.
- Client Retention and Expansion of current clients.
- Frequency and effectiveness of client outreach and follow-ups throughout the sales cycle.
- Thought Leadership and Awards Submissions – Number of successful awards submissions and thought leadership opportunities leveraged.
- Industry Event Participation – Number and impact of industry events attended, how these contribute to networking, client acquisition, and market intelligence.
- Coordination with Business Development, Creative Directors, and Project Managers to align sales efforts and project goals.
- Sector-Specific Opportunity Identification – Number of new opportunities identified within targeted sectors.
- Timeliness and quality of proposals, RFPs, and other sales materials delivered.
- Involvement and influence in cross-functional meetings, demonstrating leadership and insight in driving company-wide sales initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Post-secondary degree, college diploma, and/or recognized experience in business, communications, journalism, design administration, or equivalent.
- Strong strategic thinking, with a track record of contributing to firm-wide business growth initiatives, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in BD and marketing.
- Proven success in building and supporting high-performance teams.
- Previous experience in design, architecture, or engineering firm setting an asset.
- A natural leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, continuously bringing fresh ideas on BD, growth, and industry trends (a builder-maker mentality).
- Proven experience as a strategic thinker in business development, with a track record of successfully scaling and expanding businesses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Computer literacy and good working knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite including: InDesign, Keynote, etc.
- Literacy in Deltek / Vantagepoint considered an asset.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to anticipate issues, explore alternatives, and implement solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
